New: Pickleball Courts!

Have a blast while working up a sweat playing pickle ball on two state-of-the-art pickleball courts!  You can cool off in between sets by dipping in the lake. 

Located above the Red Barn and situated between our large lake and upper pond are two regulation courts. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the U.S.A. right now growing at over 40% per year.  Owner John Schaeffer became so enamored of the game that he was compelled to build the home courts. Regular games are played here and the courts are available for rentals for all guests. A ‘pro’ instructor is available for individual and group (up to 8 per group) lessons with advanced notice. Paddles and balls are provided and relaxing and shaded picnic tables sit alongside the courts for spectators and players seeking a respite from play.

We encourage groups of pickleballers to rent SunHawk for weekends for tournament and round robins. Pickleball is very easy to learn whether or not you have ever played tennis and in 20 minutes most people can pick up the basics. One of the attractions of pickleball is that the sport has become popular to people in their sixties all the way up to their eighties.
